Flere internetmedier skriver at 20 eksil tamiler fra flere lande, snart vil blive eftersøgt af Sri Lankas regering via Interpol. Medierne skriver at Sri Lankas regering ved retten i Colombo, har søgt tilladelse til at eftersøge disse eksiltamiler. På listen over disse 20 eftersøgte tamiler, står en tamiler fra Danmark. Flere medier har bragt navnene på disse personer. TamilVoice undlader af hensyn til personernes sikkerhed at gøre det samme. Øverst på listen står en menneskerettigheds forkæmper og generalsekretær for en tamilsk menneskerettighedsorganisation.

Flere eksiltamilske organisationer og tamiler, arbejder på at belyse Sri Lankas folkedrab på tamiler. Disse organisationer har også lagt sag an mod Sri Lanka ved den internationale straffedomstol i Haag, hvilket har betydet at flere lande har fået øjnene op for det den Srilankanske stat har gjort mod den tamilske nation. I Danmark har Dansk Tamilsk Forum været organisationen der lagde sag an mod Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka har længe misbrugt Interpol systemet i et forsøg på at begrænse bevægelsesfriheden hos de der arbejder for tamilernes rettigheder og menneskerettigheder.
