Luftangreb dræber én og sårer to civile i
Mullaithivu -Mic-27 bombefly fra Sri Lanka’s luftvåben bombede civile
boligområder i Venavil i Mullaithivu distrikt i 30 min. og dræbte én og sårede
to civile. Mange hjem blev ødelagt.En kvinde, Meiyapillai Alahi, 57, døde på stedet. To
andre kvinder, Jegatheeswari, 26, og Sivalingam Kemavathi, 42,  blev alvorligt såret og modtager behandling
på hospitalet.Fem hjem blev fuldstændig ødelagt og ti andre hjem blev
alvorligt skadet under luftbombardementet.

Uden for
international opmærksomhed udsættes civile boliger i Jaffna for granatangreb
hele natten

Sidste nats vedvarende granatangreb i nord fra det
srilankanske militær tvang civile til at tilbringe hele natten i skyttegrave.
Kvinder og børn i alle aldre.

SLA affyrede artilleri fra militærlejre i Muhamalai og
Nagarkovil hele natten i civile boligområder i Vadamaradchi/øst. Landsbyerne
Mamunai, Chempianpatru, Maruthankemi og Aliyavalai var de hårdest ramte under
nattens granatangreb. Granater ramte også landsbyerne Pachchilaipalli,
Puthikkadu, Masar og Seranpatru. De vilkårlige granatangreb i området dræber
fortsat kvæg og ødelægger nyttetræer.

Mennesker, der er
fordrevet på grund af de militære angreb, lever under
træerne.

SLA’s vedvarende angreb i Mannar distrikt i særdeleshed,
granatangreb mod Manthai området samt forsøgene på infiltration gennem Thampanai
og Mullikulam områderne har tvunget folk fra disse landsbyer til at flygte. De
fleste af dem er flygtet til Periyamadu. Midlertidige hytter er blevet opført af
familier, der har lidt midler. De fattigste familier bor fortsat under
træer.
